I was on patrol yesterday and ran into a couple of guys coming in at Miller park, they both had their limits of Halibut with the largest being around 15 lbs. Weather is good and the tides are right so you guys and gals better get out there. They caught their fish around Hog Island in the main channel and drifting down from channel marker #5 using live bait, (Jack Smelt). Good luck and tight lines,

If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Thanks for the update Jim! Glad we have you as a resource here!  :smt006

In other news - some buddies of mine went crabbing in Bodega Bay. They stopped by the dumpster at Westside to get some carcasses and saw three HUGE (his words) halibut carcasses in there. His estimate was in the high 40" range.

It's been a long time since we had a good halibut season in Bodega Bay esp. in Bodega Harbor.  Sounds like this might be the year.  Good luck.
