Camped solo for two nights. Made some cool friends and saw tons of deer.

Air quality sucked, but made for some crazy sunsets. The weather was very comfortable and the wind never picked up.

Caught a few average rockies off the Prowler. Kept one for a tasty dinner.
It felt like a strong swell out on the water, so I headed in to go surf but it turned off.
No waves at Deadmans or No Pass. I didn't check black sand.

$$$32 for a campsite!!! By the time I bought gas I could have stayed at the Westin St Francis

nice shots, nice report. we've got smoke down here in SLO too.

i think it's the swell & maybe all the live bait in the H20 that's slowing down the bite.

Thanks for the report and pictures.  Hope the smoke will be gone soon!

whats up with that bridge? it looks a little out of level. they may need to double-check their surveying.

Thanks for the pics of the Cove and Confusion Hill.  Glad to hear you gave it a go and got some fish.  Was the water still murky out at the buoys?

Wow, campsite used to be $25, but you can fit a couple cars in one spot.  Not really too much at $32 when Sonoma coast is $25 (if it still is).  Best thing about that "campsite" is that early in the year, April/May when you ab dive and are freezing you can go take a hot shower without the bag of quarters.  Shelter Cove is still one of my favorite places on the north coast.

It is kinda pricey but having a hot shower is pretty much worth it IMO. Beauty pics! Is the surfing pretty good around there?

Yep, almost as murky as sky was hazy. I was drifting over a nice little reef, but too fast. Without electronics on the boat, it was tough to get back on top of it.

Consistently good and uncrowded. I caught it at a bad time. It was almost completely flat with no steep on any faces.
It will most likely remain uncrowded because it is a mission to reach from any populated areas...
