Launched at 7:30 FAC, very low tide, didn't think I'd make it through the kelp to the north, so I went around the big rock.   Very windy at Pesc Pt and beyond, but not much swell.   You can see the ugly scar of fire smoke over Pt Lobos, at times I could see it glow.  Large patches of fog off the coast.
Went beyond Pesc Pt but it was very hard to make it against the wind, or to stay attached to kelp.  Did manage some smallish rockies, and other hits, but gave it up and came back inside the cove and got one more.   Water a little murky, sky clear and bright. Landed about noon, parking lot a zoo, I just rolled my yak up to the access parking.
A diver came in with a nice ling and a large deep maroon Sheephead.

It wasn't as windy on the north end of the bay, at least until the afternoon. Then there were whitecaps all over the place when I took a bike ride on West Cliff. I'm curious. Has anybody ever caught a sheephead in a kayak? The only time I hear about them is when a spearo gets one.

I think those sheepshead bite on smaller hooks and shrimp, not the usual rockfish fare.
