Alright, Started the day with a dead camera battery so the pic's aren't there for evidence which is a good thing...
Started early around 0700 hrs. and immediately paddled to the north end of the rock wall. Live bait in tow I tried  the inside of the wall with a couple of scratched bait and one large take down. After clearing the inside wall I then paddled to the red bouy to set up for the drift and when I arrived I still was being taken out by the out going tide. On my first drift I hooked up a nice 10" Stary flounder and put him on the game hook. One of the private boats came along side and offered me live bait which I later took him up on. Thanks to "Going Coastal" who schooled me on the area I kept getting numerous hits. I landed a nice 32" to 33" Halibut which I immediately went on my game clip too.
During my drifts I was hit twice with fish that I failed to boat one snapping right at the yak and another I didn't even see color on. Numerous Lepoard sharks with every bait that I put down getting a hit.
Soon after running out of bait I headed in trolling an artifical with no results. Upon landing a gentlemen came over and asked how I did. I proudly said well and went to get my game clip off the yak. I searched all around my yak to find that I must have miss clipped my fish and that they are drifting some where in the bay with my lost clip. Not a good feeling knowing that two prized fish are out there floundering attached to my awol clip. :smt013
Now you know. Frankfishing

Frankie I feel for ya! Sh!t happens. I'll hijack you a story.....

One of my buddies and I used to do real good pitching live bullheads for stripers in the Napa river in the 80's. He had a very unique looking boat(57 chevy style) that was easily recognized. At that time DFG was checking for head tags and taking scale samples at the dock, so we used to get checked every week and people noticed our good catches. Soon after that we were followed around when we left the dock or spotted on the water.
One day on the river we needed one more fish to limit out. We were in the process of landing the last fish when a boat approached. My buddy gets agitated and says "lets hurry and net the fish and stow it". The fish was deftly netted, keeping the net low on the opposite side of the boat. Then I slid the fish onto the stringer and quickly dropped it back into the river, forgetting to tie it back onto the cleat. :smt044 I watched in disbelief as the current swallowed our fish. :smt009 :smt010
Luckily one of our other friends motored up and gave us a "pity fish" so we didn't go home empty handed for dinner.... :smt005 I like to think that all the fish swam off the parachute cord stringer, but the last one had a loop through his jaw. :smt009

That must have been a jaw dropper :jawdrop. You make me feel better not knowing when I lost my clip, but I am sure I did the same thing and just forgot that I had unclipped it before putting them back in the water. :smt013
