Fishing this AM N of Cambria.  Launched @ Pico Creek in San Simeon.  There is a nice groundswell coming in, and I almost lost my hat punching through a wave going out.  I mangaged to stay perpendicular to the wash and arrest my backward surf in.  I think the trick is...even though you are in shock from the water down your back, you keep paddling forward  .... HARD!!! :smt003 :smt003 :smt003

the AM was warm, clear, beautiful and galssy calm.  No pics as I whipped out my camera and the battery was dead.

The water is still chilly and the bite was slow for everything but gophers.  I caught and released around 25 of them.  Scratched up one barely legal ling, and thats all.  I kept him due to that fact that I can see all six of the inside sides of my freezer right now. :smt003 The folks coming in @ leffingwell, also said it was slow for them, so I did not feel so bad.

Fish Tacos tonite!!!

too bad it's slow. it's insanely hot here right now.

just drove back thru big sur & it looks like a lake aside from the south swell.  it'll be a good weekend to be on the water.

I did battle with these guys today. I would say that you should nix the bait tipping and don't leave that lure stopped near the bottom for very long or a vicous gopher will pounce!
