My son and I went to ARW today to drift frozen anchovies. My plan was to get on the water by 630 but we didn't make it till after 830. A pb near us reported 3 keeper butts. We didn't get any butt but we caught three stingrays and my son had fun fighting them. Somebody on a tan Hobie had one keeper at the launch when we returned. I think we are going to try Berkely w/live bait next time.

About a month ago we went down the American from Hazel to Watt and saw a bunch of fish (very large sqaw fish and what looked like steelhead). I decided to take my son and his friend and see if we could catch some of the sqaw fish or shad. We didn't see a single fish from Hazel to Sunrise. I talked to a cuple of guys in boats and they hadn't caught anything either.

Amphibian, Maybe next time you and your son are going to hit the bay let us know........I wanna fish with your son and let him reel in all the sharks and rays while I fish.....just kidding. How does one go about unhooking a huge ray? Last time out I had a monster ray up to the boat that proceeded to soak me and everything on my kayak before finally breaking off. Let us know when you are planning the next bay outing.

The rays were only about two feet across so I put their back's against the side of the triple with the ray still in the water (the side of the triple is a very large flat surface) and unhook them with very long needle nose pliers. Those things are freaky looking up close.

I heard one of the rays mention something about fearing the Fishhunter.
