i was a last minute substitution on the morning star today. it was a charter hosted by "snapperhead" bill. we arrived at mel's around 8 am, we were greeted by many of the finest charter and private fishing boats in the bay area. and for good reason, the bite was on. we picked up 2-4 stripers every drift, most boats around us were hooked up at different times. i landed 3 stripers to maybe 15 lbs, and i liked it! the weather was nice, warm with a breeze. later we drifted the flats for about 6 halibut, kind of slow. but the jackpot fish came from there, a big halibut, i would estimate it's length at 34".
i would like to thank bill and his friends for inviting me on a spectacular day on the bay!

It was calm enough for a yak out there, but too crazy with all the boats. The pic does no justice for the boat traffic out there today. The last pic is my family and I. Chartering a boat with friends and family Priceless!

Nice report but next time leave some stripers for the rest of us! I dig the fix box photo. Congrats on the great action. Gotta wonder how much more pressure is being put on the stripers and flatties since salmon are no more.

Nice haul! That pic of the boating madness! Wow! Did you pick up most of your stripers off Crisey Fields, or did you go there for the halis?

We fished mel's for the sripers and South Hampton for the halibut.
