Clear Lake 6/9

  Hi NCKA'ers
  Drove up to Clear Lake on Monday. Mainly went to get mussel inspection we took both of are kayaks. When we got there two of the inspection stations weren't open ended up at Konocti Vista Casino and marina. We had down loaded paper work so it went really quick we got stickers for both kayaks plus power boat that was still at home. They never looked at the kayaks we just filled out affidavit on where the boats had been. Had lunch at Richmond Park then launched about 3:30. Headed for a little cove south of there.  My wife Debbie and her friend Kitty were quite aways ahead when I rounded the point the wind was blowing about 30 mph and 3' rollers. I stopped paddling and the wind was pushing me along at 2.5-3 mph. I got the girls attention when I turned around and started back to Kitties Mobile home park. We pulled the kayaks out on to the lawn to wait and see if the wind would quit. The original plan was to try and find some crappie the wind stopped that, plan B was to fish from the docks. Plan B worked great the shallows around the docks were full of late spawning LMB. Caught 6 up to 6lb they were on beds, but were real aggressive and could be teased into bitting. Maybe the wind made them bite?

That DAMNED WIND!!  ruins IT ALL, everytime it blows! Thanks for the report....
reads like you had fun from shore and that RP bar&grill is the best!

you also beat my  Clearlake best while doing so! 
 Is there anyone actually checking on the water, I want to comply, but don't want to have to hunt down the people to do it. 

    Dale, If we just ignore the wind ......will it just give up and go away?   Great job on the bass.

  Didn't get checked on the water for mussel cert. The sheriff was around however he got after a pb'er for waking me in the 5mph zone. The mussel inspection was a joke they didn't look at anything. Got a cert. for my power boat and I had left boat at home. I think you have until June 30th to get it for free after that their going to charge for it. I think it a money making plan for Lake County. Go to Konocti Vista takes 5Min's and your set to go.
