When I was there last, memorial day weekend, where I got my ass kicked by this lake over four days. (one tiny trout) I think I am ready to forgive, forget and give another try this weekend.  Anyone up for a Sat or Sun trip to Del Valle?

I'll be there Sunday - but not on a yak.

For the last couple of years I've done the Kayak Connection Father's Day tourney at Loch Lomond with my father, father-in-law, and brother-in-law but this year it was cancelled.  It was a perfect opportunity to get them on a yak - albeit we had to rent them, but they were on them.

Well, since it was cancelled and only my father-in-law enjoyed it, I decided that we would do something for everybody.  So instead, the 4 of us are heading to Del Valle and will be renting a pontoon boat and inviting a few more folks.

I'm still dragging the yak along.  For two reasons, one, to escape if I need to, and two, the sonar because the pontoon won't have anything.

Possibly see you out there Al.  Look for a pontoon boat with an orange Hobie Adventure tied up to it. :smt003

I have been thinking about heading out there sunday as well.  I haven't been to DV in a long time.  I have a sweet spot that I am sure to catch at least a couple LMB to get the skunk off.  Does it still open @ 6 a.m.?  If so, they need to fix that.  This time of year, by the time you get to the good spots, the sun is already climbing over the hills.  That leads to only a little time of catching the LMB in their morning haunts before going deep.

Got a rep here at work who got there early last weekend. They took a boat to a beach and fished off it. C & R'd 14 trout. #16 or 18 treble hooks. White and chartruse powerbait eggs. Said he saw some yakkers. No real big ones, but some 16-18".

and sunday is Fathers day.

That is what's letting me out of the house! :smt003   It's my day and I get to do whatever I want.

Wish you could have joined too.  Some day Frank, some day.  Hopefully not to far off either.
