Fished by the mobile home park last night for no fish. Used both top water and hairraisers. The water looked perfect with no wind. The Rusty Hook had been telling me that the fish are there. I am starting to wonder if the know what they are talking about. In the past week I have fished Mories, Linda Mar, and Rockaway with no results. The birds are out far chasing bait. Last night after fishing I checked all the hot spots in Pacifica and didn't see anyone out. This could mean that everyone is going north. If the fish are there ushually I will see a few folks but last night not one person. Has anyone heard of any fish off Ocean Beach? I have a feeling that's where they are but with gas prices the way they are I don't want to make the trip unless there are fish.

I saw a report on PFIC for Ocean Beach and the results were the same as yours.  Lots of skunks.  There have been fish caught in Monterey Bay,  I saw one pulled off of Capitola Pier a while ago.  Pacifica Pier reports have been weak.
Good luck and tight lines.

The Rusty Hook is notorious for being, ah.....generous  :cook.....with their reporting style. I guess it's in their interest in the short term but these days I don't believe anything from there.

Yeah, the rusty hook bait shop consistantly leads fisherman on. They told me that a bunch of fish where caught  behind the mobile home park the other night and not a sole was out there last night. Don't you think if there was a bite going on the night before the same guys would be out the next night. That place must be hurting for business to lie about fishinbg reports just to try and push hairraisers and poppers. I think I will go the extra distance to Hi's Tackle. At least Hippo is honest and always gives acurate info on beach bass.

I heard from shore anglers that they've been nailing them at SF Bay over your side like Cayote and Genentec. I saw one PB-ter last Sunday that got his striper limit from the peninsula side. He did not say specifically where though. Good luck!

Walked Berkeley Pier yesterday and saw some really nice stripers on the stringers and lots of nice halibut too.  Those that did well put their hours in.  One guy had a limit of halibut and a half limit of stripers was there since 6am and was still there at 6pm.
Good luck and tight lines.

I have been fishing for stripers all my life. I know the bay inside and out and have had some success on the beaches. If anyone want's to fish the beaches let me know. It would be helpful to get a group together and check differnt spots and to be able to alert when the bite is on. So, if any locals in the pacifica or ocean beach territory want a fishin partner I would be happy to come along>

Last Saturday the woman at Gus' Discount Tackle said a guy had recently caught a 30#er just off Balboa St... so she said. The surf is always random unless there's a run. Individuals can be out there any time, so if you don't mind puttin' in the time, you might hit the right place at the right time & hook up.

Wills, I'd be into hitting the beaches btwn Ocean & Pacifica once in a while. I was actually thinking about running down to Ocean or Funston this evening to throw some casts and/or grub for perch.

Latest word on the street (literally) is that someone hooked a decent striper Tuesday night 6/10 at the south end of Ocean Beach just south of the zoo, right near the Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant (soon to be the George W Bush Sewage Plant).
