Hit the water just end the bottom of the low tide, so paddling out was a breeze. There was a light wind and the sun was out. So already it was a great day! Made it out to a big flat area and was blown away to see 10+ rays and sharks finning. It looked like a Florida flat with bone fish and red fish nose down digging for shrimp and crabs. Sorry no pics I was to excited to sight cast to them. This time I took along the light freshwater bass tackle so I loaded up a chunk of sardine and dropped it within 2 feet.....wait, wait, wait for it...WHAM! Off it goes. I felt like I was on a merry-go-round the thing was doing circles around my yak. No joke this went on and on and on. 20 min later I get it close enough to leader...Its the size of a coffee table and PISSED. So I cut it free....No way I am messing with a 3 foot tail. I am exhausted so I paddle to the edge of the flat and stake out. I proceed to spend the next 2-3 hours getting bit on every cast (within 1 min of the bait hitting the water) I end the day with 10+ hook ups and another 5+ pulled hooks. Each fight is a good 5-10 min. I did switch to squid and I ended up using circle hooks with the barb mashed down (way simpler on the release). The fish 'o the day was a 4.5 foot Leopard that wouldn't quit. Video to prove it. Oh and thanks to all the posted in various threads about waterproof cameras. The video was shot with my new Pentax Optio W10 (as you can see from the thrashing shark, a waterproof camera was key).

Eric,

Good fishing in the south bay. I plan to run out about the same area after work tomorrow. If you're free, join me. I should be at RWC launch by 5:30 and heading to the green can.
