an unmentioned someone(for professional purposes),who is at this time at HMB harbour, phoned me and reported a MASSIVE HIGH DENSITY school of anchovies in the harbour..."so thick you could walk across them." The inner harbour is TOTALLY CHOKED. they are rolling in their thousands due to lack of O2. Check out hookups...going tomorrow..

I'm surprised HMB harbor does not have aireators(sp?) like SC harbor.

Sharky - thanks for da info  :smt023 With all that bait in there, there maybe some halibut lurking around and perhaps a few stripers as well  :smt045 A good friend of mine showed me some old photos (about 10 years ago) of stripers being caught right next to the launch ramp and some halibut caught right by the old pier. All caught with a fly rod by the way  :smt045

In 1989 anchored just inside the North jetty waiting for the fog to lift, fish started boiling all around us had one of the best days fishing ever casting Krocs mixed bag of Stripers,Salmon, Buttes and Lings. Never pulled the anchor and had non stop action for 3 hours. My buddy lost a Striper along side the boat that was close to 50. What was funny was that we could hear boat after boat driving right by us headed out the jaws. It was freaky foggy at times you couldn't see the tip of your rod, once the fog lifted it was over. Went back the next day for nothing.

I used to be the deckhand on the hulicat .There where alot of days that guys would fish the flats with swim baits. They would pick up halibut doing this. the flats are over by the old fish peir.

I went out there wed to dig clams on the super low tide on wed..saw some huge mollusc's..the wind was blowing gale force, but the flats area was protected by the bluff, and fully fishable..possiblt plesant..Poke poled around the fully exposed sail rocks for nada...was kikkin myself for not putting the yak on the car after hearing the wind report..got to scope out the lie of the land (reef), something ive been wanting to do on a major minus tide for some time now....
