Arrived at the lake at 5:30 pm and unloaded my kayak on the beach at the south ramp and headed off to the six o'clock CSBA meeting. The meeting adjourned at seven and then it was back out to the lake. Pushed off fifteen minutes later after a quick briefing by Charlie (our personal lake spy) and headed south.
Within minutes started landing lmb and smb's. Unlike last months post meeting fishing the fish were not showing themselves on the surface, but it did not take long to find them .......15-19' fow. Trooched a minnow under the kayak  while tossing artificials against the shore.  The minnows produced all the action which probably totaled  a dozen landings most of which were cookie cutter 14" smb and 16" lmb's.
It got real dark and I was without any form of light (forgot my headlamp) except the glow of my fish finder which really freaked out a few locals partying out on the point. I got a kick out of  listening to their talk of the strange glow of my outline on the water as they were trying to figure what the heck is that, eventually they figured it out. There were no other boats on the lake but I had my camera readied and set on flash so it could be used as a strobe if necessary, usually I carry "glow sticks". Another  "unfortunate" trip to Mendo. :smt055

Lucky they didn't start throwing rock or shooting at you. :smt067

Nice job on the bass Allen I was thinking of you the wind was blowing big time down here.

Tempering your rockfish Jones with more bass...  It's a wise move to let off some of that built-up fish energy so you don't do something drastic while waiting for a good ocean day.   :smt001
