Linda Mar was a flat as I've ever seen it with almost no wind.  We didn't need to stow a single thing for the launch and landing.  Unfortunately, no birds were working, nor did we mark much bait, so we headed for the rocks.  Jason and I fished the north side of the and continued exploring past Mori Point and almost to the Pacifica pier.  Here's Jason's stringer:

Back at the beach, we ran into Albert who fished south at Pt. Pedro.  He did better.

As for me, caught about half-a-dozen star fish (yep... that's right :smt019 ), a big jacksmelt on the troll, a few assorted rockies, and this nice 20" black.

It was great exploring new areas to fish and some of the Rock Formations and scenery were great too.   It is always great fishing with you chuck you are a great guide!  It was pretty good fishing as most of the time early in the day if we weren't catching fish we were getting hit.  Chuck didn't seem  to have a hook on his scampi!  To go along with the Ling I caught 2 other short lings that put up a nice fight.  Fun Day.

I canned Crissy and ended up launching off of the RV park just north of the pier. There was tons of bait right off of the beach in 15 feet of water. I did one pass on the outside trolling an Apex for zero and then came back in to troll the surf line for striper/halibut. Nothing there either but tons of bait and birds in the water.

Nice conditions except for the water which looked quite stained/ red tide-ish.

Jeff,

Interesting launch spot. How did you manage to get your Kayak down to the beach.  Did you go down to Muscle. Not too far from there. Especially for you.  Lot's of stripers and rockfish there.

By the way I wanted to plug the Bait shop I went to Friday before the Launch. It is coastside  #2 and the poor guy just bought the shop from the old grumpy owner.  Anyway he is trying to get shop off the ground and he was very nice with good prices. Only draw back is he had some good swim baits but he's all out now.  It's off Francisco Blvd. in Pacifica.

Chuck, thanks for taking the picture for me.  One of these days I would like to fish with you guys and try paddling longer distance.

There is a parking lot on the south end of the RV park. You can wheel it down the hill from there and then you have to hump it about 15 feet over 'jetty' sized rocks. Its fairly quick and easy though. It has to be really small to launch there because its one of those steep beaches that thumps pretty good. It was tiny on Friday so I decided to give it a go and I made it out and back in without getting dumped.  Even as small as it was I'd have to say timing is still crucial or you're going to take a tumble.

Yeah, I trolled up to muscle but I didn't go for rockfish. I was trolling and then drifting for halibut.

Jeff,

I have fished there many times for stripers and that seems like a bit a pain to get the yak back up the rocks.  Was the landing sketchy at all.  A couple big swells broke near Mori a few times as the day went on.

no you just have to time the landing. if not though it would probably be worse of a spill than linda mar. as for the rocks, you can roll your yak down 95% of the way and then you have to unload it and hump it about 15 feet.
