perch

I have stuck 2-3 each evening I have tried in santa cruz, but they are small.

are the big mommas already passed? last year I caught some in may.

From the reports I've been getting, the BSPs are scarce since a few weeks ago  NBrighton is showing walleyes, and the Cap wharf has walleyes, blacks rainbows, and some shiners beginning to show.

If you have been getting BSP's, you are doing better than most!

Fishing further south (or East haha) you have a beter chance of halibuts or even a legal striper.......

I used to get them around Manressa & Sunset Beaches this time of year. You have to cull through the small ones and keep walking till you find a hole with big ones in it, but if you do, the fun begins

I'm with you Stephen. I used to plug/grub for surf perch for the whole season from Bodega Bay down to Santa Cruz before I got into this kayak madness. I guess the best time is during sand crab season... which is coming pretty soon.

I did catch one walleye perch, but the others are little bsp's. well I won't complain then.

the kayak fishing on the other hand, I am not doing too well so far from my no-drive launch,  .
