I do a lot off bass fishing and casting, and am looking for a comfortable kayak life jacket. I'm a fairly big guy at 6'3" and 255 pounds. I want something that wont hike way up my arm pits and become uncomfortable and don't want to be constantly adjusting it. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have the Stohlquist Fisherman PFD - http://www.rei.com/product/751458

PFD is comfortable, and is made to be used with a back rest, I also find front pockets useful.

That looks nice at $110 it is in my price range, and plus it matches my kayak too! I'll have to swing into the new REI that just opened out my way and try it on.

This is a great deal for a great PFD.

I like the shoulder straps on that one. Wider straps might be more comfotable. REI has some good PFDs!

Where did the REI open up out in the valley?  I've always thought that they needed one.

BTW, I've got the Extrasport Solstice, which is very similar to the PFD that Tote posted a link for, and I LOVE it.  I'm even considering purchasing the Extrasport Retroglide Sabre for my second yak, and that is still 6 months out.

They opened one up in Stockton, I haven't been there yet but it's a lot closer to me the Fremont, loll.

I'm currently using the NRS Chinook. I'm 5'10" and 250 lb. I've hit the water once, and the PFD stayed put.

Note: the Extrasport Sabre does NOT have a high back ... in case that's important to you (and it should be if comfort is on your list).

Thanks for the heads-up Allen.  I was under the impression that it did have the high back.  Cross that off the list.
