Nice to meet you Dr. H, I'll be camped out a few miles north of you at Big Lagoon and have fished around the Trinidad area a few times.  I'll be camping with the family, but will have my yak and be able to get out a few hours each morning.  Abking and Hawk are the ones with all the far NorCal info, I'm sure they'll chime in soon.

Hey, Dr. Hot Pepper.  Patrick's Point State Park is a cool spot.  Getting a yak down to the water's edge from any of the several trails is a challenge I've been contemplating for quite some time.  If you're blessed with flat water and no gale force winds a launch out of the protected cove at the bottom of the Palmer's Point stairs (south end of the park) would likely yield some nice rockies and lings.  The abs are south of Palmer's Point for the most part and they're inshore.  If you're diving in 20' of water or more you may not see any...  As for getting a 10, there is a good chance, so you should have a 10" guage, and be sure to pass up the 9.5's!  Good luck, and maybe I'll pop in and try to meet you and your crew.

It's a very easy launch inside of Trinidad Harbor, less than 10 minutes south of the park.
