Branson Mo

Going back to the Midwest in a couple of weeks anyone have any recommendations on what area or place to stay in the Branson area?

yeah...try Chicago.  j/k.

Never been to Branson.  For abking's sake, pls take plenty of pics and post a report.

having spent 6 years in Springfield and being married to a Springfield girl, I 'spose I could offer up some advise...

In Branson, I would pick any cheap and national place (for comfort) or a small dive for a more homey feel...

damn!!  that place sure looks nice.  bet can blow your per diem with the in-house dining. 

Yea I tried to run Big Cedar past the wife as soon as she saw it was owned by BPS she nixed it. She said I would wander off too much  I think the on site Guide Services was the Killer

thats just silly, just because Johnny built it doesn't mean much.  Its really a family place without much of the trappings and crazy dead animals that the BPS stores have. 

I will admit that the guides are top notch and the private waters have some of the best trout fishing in the country (when I worked there, the president <Clinton> would make regular trips to the private water with a BPS guide)

most of the shows have good hotels associated with them, if you check references, you'll be fine
