Hi Yakers:

VanDamm was Flat with at least 15 Ft. Vis. at the N. Point.
I went out with Fred and Terry who limited out on Abs. and Perch.

I was a little too light and had a hard time going down so, I
went for Abs in about 10-15 Ft. I limited out with 2 8" and one 8 1/2 " Ab. It was some of the best Diving and  SpearFishing is a long time.

Fred and Terry were both supprised to find a School of Perch and quite a few Plates at the S. Island.

The water was quite cold about 49 Degs. and I  did the Mex. Hat dance trying to pull out the Cramp in my Leg. during the Night :smt005

Sunday was blown out and I was glad we went out Sat. The white capped Swells were great to watch from on shore.  Stay tune for Fred's' and Terry's' report.

Hi Yakers:

I just wanted to say to bring something to punch out the Chad in you Ab
tag. The dammed Chad will tear out the hole. Thanks to Terry for having a Nail and Zip Ties!

Well, it was a great weekend with good weather and good friends. Met up with Ernie AKA Mendohead at Van Damme @ 0815. I thought it was going to be packed with divers but it turned out to be not crowded.  Pulled in the parking lot at around 0815 with beautiful weather.  Ernie, Carrey and myself did a little brainstorming for which direction we're heading.  I told Ernie that he's the man and take us to his honey hole. First we paddle out towards the north side of Van Damme and Ernie took us to his secret cove, what a beautiful site, then we paddle more north where the glass house came to sight and there was a beautiful secluded beach right there.  We did some recon dive first to determine where are the 8" and 9" abs are located.  Well we met up back on the secluded beach where the fun began. All I can say is they sure make those abalone punch card a lot tougher for the divers this year.
After we filled out our card, we started head back to Van Damme because Mendohead needs to get back on the road to see his real honey hole.  So we say goodbye to Ernie and thank him for the secret spot and told him to meet up again next time.  So we manage a quick snack and back we go in the water to do some spearfishing.  I told my buddy Carey that we're headed to the south island as Ernie suggested that there're lots of fish there.  We got there and drop in to my surprised 6" to 8" pirches were a all over the place.  We got our limit in no time and swam around for another 30 to 45 minutes before we headed in.  All I can say, "WOW".  Beautiful day and great friends and on top of that good dive.  Thanks again Mendohead.  Here's a couple pictures of Van Damme on that Saturday morning.

Hi Yakers:

We also shot the "Caves" and it was a Wally world moment. "Yo-Ho a Pirates live for me". At low tide the rear exit is too shallow to paddle thru so we had to do a 180.
I'm up for another trip if anyone wants to car pool.
