Fish Shaver late Saturday with a friend.  There was no wind and the lake looked like glass with dimples, the trout were eating midges everywhere and had zero interest in conventional tackle.  We threw spinners, small cranks, plastics and topwater at them for nothing.

The smallies were holding shallow at dusk on the rocky points and we both picked up a few on various lures.  The big fish went 13 inches  :smt002

Sunday late morning we hit the lake with our ladies small ones.  the five people and one dog paddled around for a while before parking on an island for naps.  I trolled a spinner for a while and picked up 2 more little bass :)

The wind was a pain Sunday, but we made it alright...

Looks like boat traffic will be picking up soon, enjoy it now if you can.

First pic is out little crew, the second, Sam and fish :)
Less Mental than before, Still savage AF tho <3

Nice fish.  Smallmouths are so much fun to catch.  Looks like a beautiful lake too.  Where is it?

THANK YOU! for showing some Shaver love. That picture tells of what kind of perfect day it was. strong work.
grew up with that being one of my family haunts but spent more time higher in the hills at Huntington lake and the surrouding streams.
I spent the weekend in the area, for Moms day, and Dad and I had a talk about the Kokanee at Shaver and my needs for that fish. With the chance for a smallie upgrade there may be a family outing in the works.
again , thanks
