After paddling my Prowler 13 for 3 hours this Sunday and 4 hours last Sunday, my butt and I have concluded that we may want to invest in a gel seat.

Can you all give me any comments or feedback on gel seats? Do they work well, is there a brand that you prefer?

Thanks Yakers!!!

Rich

Ranger Ben, your local Claveys, has gel seats. I bought the thicker black one it makes a big difference. After a long day on the water the last thing you want is to have a numb ass and thighs when you try to stand up! Makes for an interesting surf landing... :smt044

I've used the inflatable seat, and they are very nice.

Inflatables are really nice...while they last.  Surf to Summit has redesigned theirs which was super comfy, but also super unreliable.  In the end I made mine own and its the best one ever.

I pulled out the thin born-to-die air bladder in the S2S seat and made a new bladder out of a vinyl I cut out of an old heavy duty dry bag...its been bomber and I love it.

Yakpads are pretty good, I used one for quite a while in the past.

I use a 1" foam stadium seat pad that I slip under my seat.  Works great, and best of all it was free!  (We have a bag of them with the "De Anza College" logo in the equipment room here at school)  :smt003
