I think there's a pullout or some kind of small parking area on the side of 1, then it's a hike down to the water.  It's not well advertized so you're best off finding it by GPS.  I haven't actually been there, though I'm sure I've driven by it, but I have talked to folks in the area about it.  I doubt it's very kayak friendly, supposed to be big abs and good spearfishing though because it isn't used much as it's kind of hidden.
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.

Randall,

it's an awesome spot, with relatively easy access.  Needs to be dead calm though (to fish outside the cove), and you need your wheels.  They're talking about closing out part of it with the MLPA stuff.

The history is that it was the Stornetta ranch, and if old man stornetta saw you trespassing on his property, it was rock salt time.  Nobody dove it from shore.  Then the family sold it to the BLM and it turned into an abalone free for all.  At least in that sealion cove.

If you're looking for company, PM me before you go and I'll meet you there.  Real good fishing.

Dave
