Who's your cable provider? Mine is Comcast. I am also experience download but not from work. So it must be Comcast putting the brakes on download speed.

I also have comcast. I have experienced some slowdown on the downloads lately. I get on at work also and don't remember the same experience there.

Like I always say "They may be slow, but at least their expensive" LOL

I haven't had slow downloads, but every four or five times when I come to the site the download hangs up and I have to reload. Every time it is hung up I notice the status bar is hung up on something called "adyieldmanager". If I hit F5, the page reloads just fine.

Same here...I have Comcast at home, but here at the college we're on the Big Pipe, and I get similar hang-ups here too.

I don't know but every other web site I go to everything works fine but when it comes to Norcal my web download are slow.  it will open the logo and forum toolbar quick but slow when actually clicking on the tool bar sites.  can't figure it out.

I found that last week the site was a bit slow - I attributed it to mass of users.

At work I have a fiber optic in - at home is major slow dial-up, at the latter, the progress/address bar shows a slow down as it picks up the advertisements.

It is bothersome to be slow, but the ads are well worth having to be able to get to the content!  :smt003

I agree... no other site is slower than NCKA when either on the T1 at work or cable at home.

Many other fishing sites with the same amount of content are at minimum, twice as fast as here.

This is not a crack at Bill, his efforts or any one else. I’m just stating the facts here. Some days I give my screen the middle finger every time I click a link here. Other times I get discouraged and get my fish porn elsewhere.

Not that I am a site builder or have much knowledge in that arena, but are the excessive ads to blame here? Shall we pay to play vs. the graphic intensive 'hope you click me' ads? I for one would be willing to make a small donation to keep the site afloat if we could limit the lurkers...

I need my yak porn and don't want to leave NCKA.

I too came to the  conclusion that it is the ads slowing me down.  Not complaining just wondering why it's so slow. :smt002  I can live with it.  I just have to connect hardwire instead of a wireless router.  Webmaster and administrators of both the site and club are doing a great job.   :smt007
