Arrived early enough. Looked very bumpy, with lots of churned up stuff and overall pretty nasty.
Flipped a coin.
Launched at 7am.
Roller coaster swells coming in were at least sorta clean. Deep troughs isolated us completely from mainland.
Fished with herring and squid and plastics.
Lots of seals. I think they missed us and our bait donations.

Wind hinted at an early appearance, so we turned back early. Didn't want to be two yahoos on the 6 oclock news.
Managed to land dry again.

Saw just two pbs as we were coming in. Guess nobody wants to turn green for rockfish.

No fish action, but we were glad we went out. Needed to work out a few kinks.

First beach launch for new p15. Only second time in salt. Pleased thus far.

congrats on the successful landing.  SCallen and others have mentioned davenport can be slow in the spring.

Alex,  Great fishing with you out there.  I'm glad the coin toss was in favor of roughing-it.

The wind looks good for an attempt Sat and Sunday early, esp. in Capitola.  Lemme know.  Bookmark this if you don't have it already:
