Man, I caught so much crap just for bringing this subject up on another forum...

I'm so glad to have found NCKA!!!!

FWIW, I don't drink on the ocean, but agreed, those looong hot lazy days of summer on the lakes when the 100 degree weater hits is a different story entirely.

One propably won't have to worry too much about hitting parked car's on the water, anchored boats more likely.

"But occifer, it's not my fault.  A wave just tossed be onto this beach.  I didn't want to be drunk in public, I wanted to be drunk in my kayak!"

I wouldn't consider 1/2 mile out to sea 'in public' either.  As long as you aren't naked drunk, the nearest bystanders wouldn't be the wiser.  ;)  Of course then you have to come in at some point.

But then, imagine if Dan had been tipsy...  @#$%!  Two #$@#ing SHARKS!  They're EVERYWHERE!

I enjoy beer more than most, and back in my pierfishing days a 12 pack was standard gear, but between the hours and the safety factor I generally paddle a dry ship.  Now (relatively calm) river runs, that's another story.  ;)
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.
