Happy St Georges Day. :beer2

Launched out of Berkeley Marina at 7am with Insaneduane, Dave, Frank, a friend of Franks (Kerry?). Towed a Frabill bait bucket full of feisty anchovies out to the pier ruins.

Drifted said anchovies up and down the pier ruins until noon for nada. One great bite as I was drifiting home, but I missed it. A couple of other nibbles. The wind came, went, and then back came again. I think it must have been at Starbucks while it was not at Berkeley, because it was a lot more energetic second time round. Anchovies did alright in the Frabill. The others were still out there when I left. I'll let them tell their stories.

If any more evidence were needed that the halibut fishing is good right now, the dumpster next to the cleaning station was heaving with halibut carcasses. The joggers and dog walkers were all looking at me like :tard: as I  :love10: into an open dumpster swarming with flies, saying "ooo, look how big that one is" to no-one in particular.

Hey NB -

Glad you hooked up with Frank and Duane. Doesn't get any better than that. In terms of probability of being skunked, I would rate hali's second only to sturgeon and WSB. In June, when the stripers move into the bay, things get more interesting, IMO. BTW, where did you get your live chovies from?

I did the same when I used to live in Half Moon Bay. I'd drive down to the Princeton Harbor boat launch and check out the cleaning station dumpster to see what the was being caught :smt002

Ha. As I was peering into the dumpster I thought to myself "I really should get a photo of this for that Abking fella". Unfortunately I lost my 5th digital camera to "water damage" at Oyster Point a few weeks back.

Scott: K dock at the Berkeley Marina sells live anchovies. We split a "pier scoop" for 15 bucks and dropped them into Duane and Daves livewells. There were >50 anchovies in there.

sorry for the late report but had a date last that i forgot about :smt009 so this gal calls at 720 pm and says
where are you right then it hits me oh sh%$  :smt012 so I told her I had to go help my mom and I would be a little late.  :smt004 hate to lie but I did not want to tell her the truth you know what I mean :smt044

So it was nice day better then I thought but got no fish. got one takedown Dave got one to
called it quits at 200 pm when the wind came up got blown home witch was not to bad
we got anchovies at the bait pier 15 dollars to fill my tank not bad and they were live all day
even the one Dave had in his tank witch has only a air bubbler's on it he did do some water changes
on them so that helped to.

so we will be doing it again on this sat if anyone wants to go Early launch at the boat ramp
will post in hookups

Hey Duane, I'm sure you know this, but if for some reason you are forgetting it on purpose (perhaps to score some trim), allow me to remind you...

If ya gotta lie about fishing now, just because of being a little late to a date, think of what you're getting into should she become your long-term girlfriend or wife... yep, no fishing for Duane (or at least a lot of lying).

My advice... sample the wares then boot + ass + curb and find a lady to date that understands how hard it is to be a fisherman (and date a fisherman).

Feel da love!   :smt007   Backcountry

p.s. I'm soooooo lucky my fiancee actually encourages me to spend MORE time hunting and fishing... I'll ask if she has any girlfriends that are into Bavarian dancing!
