Was Going to Hit Brooks this AM, but saw Guitarzan would be in Paradise, thought I would give it a try and and figure out this new launch called "Kay",

Decision looked good as I was crossing the San Rafael Bridge, It's windy before 7:30, but Paradise looks good. Just as I'm nearing the Kay area, it Dawns on me... Kay is now a private launch and they have taken the ramp away :smt009
so I now remember from a Past Post from Insanedwane,  sure enough, launch gone :smt010

Gutarzan is not to be in the area for another 1 1/2 hours so I decided to try the Paradis Pier , never been
there before... Guitarzan was right about this place,  great Place to train for Elk, Nice Hill...

$8, not a very good launch area either, but got it done and got out there to a Rippin current and many boats. Kinda slow all over, did hook up with a 3 maybe 4lbder that somehow got unhooked. Gomagotzu in the head of the dead Herring and a treble towards the end, toward the end of the out go started getting a few more takedowns but nothing would stick.

Throw in the towel around one and notice some Huge smelt by the Pier as I reeling in my dead herring,
Lots of Them!!! definitely should be able to pick some of these up with Sabiki or something

Well, no Guitarzan, but had a Good time with a little love. Really think it's important to get out there @
Sun up , Also met another one of our Brothers at the park with his family, Kool guy and forgot his name.
He said there is a way to launch at Paradise " Cay ", have to look into that.

Pics!!!

Loved this House :smt007 and for got to post up these pics of a ARW trip last week where I caught a
Okuma Spinning Outfit :smt007 :smt007

So Funny, I'm pulling in 200 plus yards of line I found drifting to find this set up...

"Hey Guys I found A Pole!!!" Just then this unfamiliar voice comes over the Radio,..

" What Kind of reel and pole is it, I lost one last week... "

 " Ahh, Lets see, it Say's M... I... N... E!!!!   MINE!!!!   :smt005

Nice to meet Ya Sharky :smt006  Our Brother from South Africa..

Wait till this Bloke tells his Story :smt103

I think there will be a rise in Shark Shield Sales

Lots of boats in Paradice,  be waiting for the report tomarrow................ Danglin

I got to the Kay at a bit before ten on Sunday to find out the only launch is on the north side, easy on the rocks but  kinda sucks cause ya want to go south, kindof a big paddle, what with current.. and with no wheels for the peir-hill, I went back to Bon Tempe again and got 3 more planters, got windy at the lake but nice. Next time its wheels and 8 bucks for the peir, sorry I missed you Don, next time!
Went there today, to the peir, couldnt raise anyone on the vhf and it was windy so I bailed.

Guys, I went out there for the late late shift Sunday. Didn't get on the water til about 4pm.
It was a beautiful afternoon/evening. Didn't look like anyone had any luck, though.

I put in on the North side near the yacht club bldg - just carried down to the dock where
there's some empty slips. Nobody seemed to mind...now...but when they're finished building
everything over there, it's probably gonna be a different story.

Anyway, as Ben said, it's kind of on the wrong side, but I just needed to get out so it was ok
at the moment. Really couldn't ask for a much better late afternoon paddle.

Below is where I launched. It's more built up now than when this image was taken.
After that are a couple scenics and sunset shot. No fish yet...

There's another launch as well that is public- if you look in the left top (NW) corner of the marina you see a little dock. That (apparently) is public.  There's a couple of roads on the way to the pier park that i am looking into at the county office today... i believe they have public shore access yet it is not posted (similar gig to muir nude beach). Will let ya know what i find

The thing with the peir, its right where you want to be, even with a ripping tide. The south side of the Kay is a good mile, so the north, well.... and if the tides arent with you, your screwed...
I wonder if we can park on the street at the peir and wheel it all the way down.
It would be nice to find a live cam somewhere close to guage that blasted wind too.
Also, Im just quessing the s. is where we want. Steve, have you had any luck n of the Kay???

yah, we've caught fish there- stripers for sure, and i have been off the cay in a boat and caught hallies. The little cove that's on teh N side of the cove is the first place i've ever caught a hallie on a kayak...water is shallow there, but nice and sandy

Sounds good to me, its an easy launch and has public shore parking right there along the east west rockwall on the north side.
