Fished from 6:30 to 10:00 for two trout about 12". Both taken between the island and the other buoy towards Deer Flat on wedding ring/worm. I had only two bites and got both, I think if you put the time in could have made a limit. I did see a few other catches from other boats. Nice day for the limited time I had on the water. Maybe we'll get a plant soon.

Thanks for the report and WTG on the trout.  :smt003 I was thinking of fishing there yesterday but opted for SPR since I was after giant trout and LL has 12-16" trout on average. All that said it is one of my favorite places to paddle because the scenery can't be beat.

My son Nathan and I went out of Loch Lomond as well in the AM and it was freakin cold.  My truck temp gauge kept telling me to watch our for ice.  Trolled around for awhile with no hits, dodgers, flashers, wedding rings etc.  Soaked powerbait for a while, no luck.  Then we spotted them, big beautiful bass shallow and still.  :smt007
We tried everything, from senkos, plugs, bait, you name it we chucked it.  They just rolled their eyes and mocked us.  Nathan was still sight fishing, I gave up and was watching some kid from shore toss a red worm on a 10 hook into the area we saw the fish.  I chuckled, and thought good luck.  Next thing I know, the kid is pulling away from the shore dragging up this bass.  No love for us, but overall a great maiden voyage for Nathans P13, and in a few weeks, Big Blue.

I trolled past you and your son (I was in the grey kayak). Nice fish! Couldn't get much better for a first trip.

The kid with the bass looks pretty jaundiced!   :smt003

You could be a fine journalist, Eugene.  Way to go getting your son hooked up with a nice kayak - can't wait til mine are old enough.
