Spectra is pretty easy to break because it doesn't strech, just reel in at the bottom of a swell, thumb the reel and hold on (pointing down).  50lb might be a strech, but 30 isn't a big deal.  30lb mono though, forget it.

As a former rep for Fishtraps I am sold on them.  I generally use 5" traps with 1 to 4 oz heads depending on the conditions. For colors I like channel island chovy,midnight chovy and gost shrimp. On a good day I can usually worm up almost all vermilion and coppers. I dont jig them up and down much but put them on the bottom and worm them slow or maybe a twitch or 2. For this you need ideal conditions.
