Hi Yakers:

No hookups at Pleasure Pt. but the Humback giving Stoggie and I the Hi Sign was worth the long haul back to the West Harbor into the west Wind.

Flat conditions but no live Bait to be found. Squid on a slider didn't help. Sc-X did catch 3 keeper Crabs.

Man what a beautiful day on the water. 6:30 a.m. the water was glassy and clean.

The morning play with the humpbacks was a thrill for sure, but it makes you feel pretty small out there with those giants.

Met up with Sc-X just east of pleasure point, fishing was real slow, nibbles here and there, but snags while trolling was my biggest problem. But good experience trying to work them out.
The wind picked up mid day, so we worked our way back to the harbor. Got a good workout, the winds were west and the swell was NW, so the entire trip back was tough. Whitecaps on the water all the way, but this wasn't my first time at the rodeo, so it was kinda fun.

The harbor was like the fishhook at rush hour, sail boats everywhere coming in and out, all of them tacking back and forth instead of using their motors, so a guy had to be wary, but we made it.

Thanks Mendo for the company and Sc-x, we hope to see you out there again soon.

Nice to meet up with Mendo and Stogie. The fishing was spectacular-great conditions. The catching was a little slow. If that had been the Rock Cod opener it would have been a different story. Looking forward to the next time. The Crab made a great salad. Fresh greens, etc. from the garden with Crab two ways, a Meyer lemon Crab stack and a Golden Crab cake. Can't wait for the next batch! :smt004
