Marauder Hatch Covers DO NOT FLOAT

While several miles off the Big Sur Coast, I was digging for gear within the roomy interior of my new Marauder it occurred to me that the hatch cover might not be a good thing to drop overboard.  While safely home on hard ground, I tossed both hatch covers in the hot tub and they sank like rocks as soon as any trapped air got out.  Scary thought in case you catch a big one and/or filp with one hatch open or simply drop the hatch while dealing then need to return through Big Sur surf.

I think I will add some foam to the inside of big hatch but there is not much space on the small round one.  Has anyone else noticed this or come up with a solution? 

For the round one you can install one of the hinged type like the Hobie or Malibu have

The easiet thing would be to glue some foam to the inside of the hatch cover with 2 ton epoxy. Probably wouldn't need much to get it to float. Attaching a strap would require drilling.

Or a tether.

The tether would be down and dirty. Just drill a couple holes in the support webbing and add cord.

I glued some foam in there it works great.  I'll post a photo later
