This past Sunday I hit D.V. for a morning try at stripers and trout, in my tube.
No joy, so I did what comes natural and started throwing a 4"senko.
And I got my first official MAMA DD of '08. 27" of pure joy!

(see big bass pictures page 12)
To answer your question dilbeck, there are 4 or 5 lakes in the bay area which have these bigguns. D.V., San Pablo, Coyote, and Calero are the best chance for hogs.

Still in awe - man that was a hog, pig, toad, ... fill in your own adjective.  BTW, I would have never guessed DV.

On the other hand, I fished Calero a couple weeks back and took a 19.5" in a back cove.  Although 19.5" was the official length, she "stretched out to 20" because it just sounds so much bigger.  Anyhoo, it is my personal best to date and I was pretty proud.  I could only imagine had it been another 7 inches long.

Job well done Ken!  Serious fish envy here.

Michael

It's nothing like it was a dozen years ago...now there are probably less than 6 fish like that left in the whole lake. :smt013 :smt009 :smt010
We have had days of 30 bass each with 3 or 4 DD kickers, during the peak month period, back in the good old days. :smt007

But yes it as definately a RUSH! :smt005 :smt003

Congrats on a super-duper big bass!  How much does a 27 inch bass weigh usually??  Any guesses on that?

That is an admirable catch for sure.  Way to go!  What a HAWG! :snorting:

WOW!  That's wild!  I'd also like to know how much a bass like that might weigh. Congrats!
