Rob Allen Speargun Q's

Hey folks, for anyone who knows, are Rob Allen gun barrels foam filled or sealed in any way?

i know picasso guns are sealed and sporasub's are kind of sealed: )

I have one of my buddies guns in the garage right now and it seems kind of sealed.  I like it, but after washing it and letting it dry I noticed salt around the screw holes and running like a stripe down the barrel of the gun.

The RA barrels are rubber plugged from the factory.  The salt Dave sees is likely from that little space between the handle & where the rubber stopper is located.


Sporasubs are quasi-sealed.  A lot of the old vipers used to use the muzzle gasket as a seal... and would leak because of that & the bad seal on handle end.

Picassos are rubber sealed like the Rob Allens, but just a different type of plug.

Esclapez used to stick styrofoam in their barrels, relying more on water displacement than sealing.

In any case John, since you got your gun from Laird, who knows how it was tampered with during the modification process.
