Thanks to all who attended and more importantly, MANY THANKS to Alan for providing (yet again) this free seminar  :smt008

Da usual suspects:

Adam Fish Hunter (with da flashy purple gloves), John Jdyak and Gary Sandman.....

Many thanks to Alan for his expert advice on reel tuneups and making our reels even better than OEM.  We were also treated to loads of information about rod dynamics in combination with the reels that we pair them up with.  I expect rod builders like Erik and Scott already knew this stuff but Alan drew out diagrams that went into the physics/engineering/stress variables of what happens when a load is put on our gear.  I'll never look at my rod/reel combos the same anymore.

Good to see the members of the NCKA family and meet with those that I haven't already met on the water or at other events.  Howard, the DVD rocks.

Mooch, thanks for putting this together and let Vince know that we really appreciate the venue.

Taking a reel apart is definitely not as intimidating...while Alan was standing nearby. Willie (Starlifter) showed up to prep a reel before he takes off to the Philippines for a couple of weeks offishing. Janice (Big J) made an appearance with a very interesting-looking acid-wrapped rod.

Ah, Alan, the REAL wizard, performed his magic on my Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 4600 C3. It is my go-to reel for trout trolling and has been giving me intermittent line retrieval problems. It now SINGS "here, fishy, fishy"! And my go-to saltwater reel is relatively new so Alan "pimped" it to better than new. It was good to see lots of my NCKA friends there, too. Thanks a bunch, Alan and Aquan Sports (Mooch and Vince), for this opportunity.

Thanks Mooch,Alan and Aquan(Vince)! It was a WIN-WIN for me...I got to pick up my Thule rack AND upgrade my Triton!(Mooch, I only needed 4-locks, not 16!) :smt002
The knowledge Alan shared is priceless!
* I now know that "color" is NOT the most important factor, when choosing rods! :smt044
* 2.5 lbs. of drag will land ANY fish in our LOCAL WATERS
* confirmed Alan dislikes Avet reels...he explained why.
If you missed this one? Try to attend another, it is way worth the price! :smt005

That Pizza was GREAT! where did it come from? the crust was actually like sourdough bread.

Next time(if there is) I will be bringing the "SEASONED" Avet for an OIL&LUBE job.

Why do I have to be sooooo far away! :smt010 Looks like a great way to learn the ropes and get those reels singing like BigJ said.
