Apparently federal funding is being pulled until impact studies can be done. Yet another blow to our fisheries.

That's rough news, Brian.  It's encouraging that two sportfishing groups are banding together to do what they can for this year, but it sounds like it may be too little too late for the years to come. 

I'm glad though that the studies will be done to determine the impact of the fish planting, because that information is more important to me than knowing that there are fish being planted for people to catch.  It's a tough issue.

Kokanee, are landlocked sockeyes, and sockeyes feed almost exclusively on plankton... Is plankton endangered too now?  That would seem to be the only environmental impact of Kokes.  They eat plankton... other salmonids dont really... maybe as juveniles, but im not aware of a shortage of plankton.  THIS IS BS

It'll be hard to show that stocking non-native fish doesn't harm native species.  Fortunately this is only a matter of federal funding or not rather than an outright ban on stocking.
