Is anyone else going to be in the Brookings area for the long weekend of the 21 to 24?  I have to look up the Oregon regs to see what is open.  Have been snowed under most of the winter.  I think some of the beach access areas about 4 miles north of town are better for rockfish, but the launch may be impossible.

I will be up there the following weekend of the 28th. my mother in law lives on the beach just south of the border. i was going to launch at the beach and troll for salmon til the cows come home. the smith river also has some nice fish. good luck.

I'd be into getting together up there some time, but I don't think I can do next weekend.  I know rockfish/lings are open up there because I've seen some posts on FSF about it lately - limit of 6 year-round I think.  I don't know about salmon though.  Smith river doesn't close to Steelhead when most do.  Good luck and let us know how you do.   :smt001
