Too bad that coupon doesn't cover kayaks! :smt011   That would bring in some serious customers.

Ooh...looks like the perfect time to replace that surf rod that I busted last month!  And maybe pick up one of those Okuma kayak rods...and replace the line in all of my reels...and...

I have a feeling my wallet will be noticeably lighter come Monday...fortunately my wife works this weekend, so there will be no one there to stop me!  Muwahahaha!

I'll be there on Saturday... I need a full size net since I've been fishing without one and I keep hearing a big net is required... can anyone tell me what size is best (and/or required) for a kayak fishing for stripers, butts, and mud marlins?

If you didn't go today, the Baidarka rods are under the tent just outside the front doors. Be sure to take a copy of the coupon with you.

Picked up the Hobie Sail kit today at MC's, for an unbelievable price of just 220 (no tax + 20% coupon on $270(which was good to begin with))!  Cant wait to try this thing out!  Thanks Zack for mentioning the event AND coupon!

Jesus, that is cheap.  I should've scored one of those.
Picked up a Trevala rod, 6'6", medium heavy power, medium fast action... $79.99!  Sweet!

All the trevala's I saw were over $100.  I guess you scored an extra store special.  I ended up snagging a 7' shimano talora rated 8-15 lb for $40 out of the clearance rack; a shimano curado 200 w/ spool of 50# braid for $168, and four magnum rapals x-raps for $45.

I brought an old shimano corvalus into the shimano reel tech.  the dude laughed in my face, and told me the reel was not serviceable and to send it back to shimano for a replacement.  Well, at least worth a shot.

All in all, it was one helluva sale.  Just a little on the crazy side.  I was there from 1-3 and it was elbow to elbow in the fishing area.  Just way too packed.

Martin, they had $99 Trevalas when I was there at noon. Oftentimes, you have to ask them to check in the back because they only put so many rods out on display. The $99 rods are usually the lighter rods.

The girls at the checkout registers were causing some confusion for a while. They were denying the 20 percent discount on several brands until they were corrected that only G Loomis rods didn't get the discount.

As for your reel, I sent a TLD20 reel to Shimano once for servicing and received a note that the model was too old and couldn't be serviced. Along with the note, Shimano sent me a brand-new TLD20.
