I just had to get out on the water today.

Pushed off the dock at SC Harbor about 7:00 a.m., let out a yell on 69, but it was quiet as a church. I was up and the water was inviting, so off I went. Seeing only a couple PB's out about 2 miles, told me that the butts weren't very close yet. I paddled towards the mile buoy, and saw some bird action along the way, so I dropped a squid down to the bottom to see what was going on. I just bobbed around for about an hour, and the clouds looked dark, the breeze picked up and the wind waves were about 2' with 3'-6' swells, but picking up. Being alone out there, while providing a little solitude, wasn't exactly a great idea. So after getting nothing and the weather turning, I pointed it back to the harbor.

At least I got some exercise and a little more experience on the water for a newby, practice never hurts.

I'm sure itching to get some fish out there, come on rockfish!
Tomorrow looks better for the water, give a holler if anyone goes out.

Good for you Stoggie,

I worked today,

I work tomorrow,

I live too far from the ocean for my taste (and quick trips)

and I'm just plain jealous,

so keep the reports of all kinds coming so I can live vicariously thru the adventures of others while I wait my turn,,, (actually isn't that mostly what this site is for?)

I will be pulling pots on Sunday am. I am looking for an early start 6-6:30. I plan to hit a couple of spots for flat fish of any variety, about 2+- miles from the mouth. Then pull pots before the wind hits. I'll give a shout out on 69. The last few times I thought my raido was not working-so quiet out there.
