Met up with Naoaki and Frank at my spot. They drifter minnows while I worked my magic lure. No stripers today  :smt012 but got a few chunky bass. Wind came up and was a little chilly. I had fun, always great to meeet more new people. Thanks for the stickers from both of you, and thanks to Naoaki for picking up the tab at Denny's. I owe you one.

It was an interesting trip to the Delta for me today...
I got lost as usual & was running late.  I couldn't find Jeff's yak or the spot that he was talking about, so I was driving on the levee road back & forth for an hour.  Then this green truck started following me.  I got to the end of road, so I parked on the side to turn around & the truck parked right behind me.  The guy came out of the truck & asked me what I was doing there & he had a gun in his belt holster & showing it off to me... :smt009  I told him that I was  suppose to meet somebody & got lost.  He told me the Island is private property & I have to stay out, so I turned around got the heck out of there!  Since I was driving to try to find this place my gas started running low, so I decided to head home & saw Frank coming towards me! :smt001  I told him I was lost & he told me to follow him, so I finally made it there.  Jeff was already there fishing & told us he got some  LMB already.
I went to his spot and right away he picked up LMB!  I got this kitty on my jumbo minnow.  The kitty swallowed the jumbo (really big one) whole.  The wind picked up & made it hard to fish.  The kitty was it for me.
Frank's gas was low too (I mean very low), so we followed him to a gas station & went out to eat after.  Nothing fancy at Denny's but always fun talking to the guy's about yak-fishing.
Thank you for showing me your secret spot today Jeff & don't worry about the dinner, there is always next time! :smt006
Thanks Frank for saving me from being lost on the levee...
Can't wait until next time try there again! :smt002

Sounds like you had a good time.  Way to keep chasing those bass.  Did you see any of the FLW guys buzzing about?  Nearly 200 boats in the Delta Tournament.  Might go to Oakley this Saturday to see the show, then try a few more Delta spots.

We only saw one boat the entire time we were there. The water is still a little cold. Give it about a month and bass should be wide open and there is just endless shoreline to fish here so you wont run out of fish. The spring striper run through here is spotty, i just got very lucky last week. You guys should all come out this october when the stripers are hot and heavy in there. They are mostly small but very very abundant.  Jeff

Always fun hooking up with members of the NCKA. When I saw Naoaki he looked totally frustrated like one of those orphans you see on the info commercials. "Come on Naoaki follow me" then a big, "Okay Frank"
