Had my first successful outing on my new OK Trident today, at Lafayette Reservoir. OTW @ 830, after the boat inspection for mussels. Conditions were REALLY nice, as you can see from the first pic.

I leisurely trolled a couple of my favorite lures, and got two rainbows on a Yo-Zuri "Snap Bean" in yellow/black (3rd pic). The second fish was pretty good size, almost 2 lbs (4, 5).

I tried the "drifting Powerbait" method for awhile with no success, then back to the lures. One more dinner-size trout rounded out the morning. My wife had a nice time paddling around ID'ing all the birds.

The big one is currently curing as gravlax in the fridge, and the other two were stuffed & baked for dinner. All in all, a really good day.

Hey... very nice trout and report from a pretty tough lake. Never used the yozuri beans, will have to give it a try. BTW, may want to get a rubber net, less tangles with those treble hooks. I have a CNR net like yours and never use it anymore because when your fishing plugs with 2 trebles, it can be very frustrating.  :smt012

Strong work!

How did those trout taste? The two I have caught from there tasted horrible, really muddy :tard: :tard:. I think it's because they were recent planters.
