We will be there first thing in the morning. My friend is a very good bass fisherman and that's what he will be after. I was hoping to catch some Crappie. Any advice? Where should we launch? Come join us if you have time. We will be on a blue Search 15 and yellow Tarpon 130.

I want to use my minnow trap while I'm there. Are minnow traps pretty productive there?

I will be taking my new Uniden Voyager. Is there a certain channel people use there?

Tried a minnow trap there once. NADA. I think that is why the bait shops do so well selling them. Better to just buy them instead of relying on the trap.
Good luck.

midday soft plastic bite is on. wacky senko is money.
the crappie thing isnt happening yet, but I would try Shag rock and work your way back to the narrows. Watch yourself at the narrows, the wind waves stack up there, hit the retaining wall then clash with the incoming waves and it can be a recipe for swimming. The other place to try for crappie is the shoreline of Glenhaven. I would launch at Braitos marina. Very nice people there.
If you need some protection from wind or dont find fish at Shag rock, Anderson Island is a short paddle away and focus on the rocky point at the southwest side of the island and you will find fish.
good luck the clear lady is very moody right now.

Thanks Spiderman. We were going to leave Sacramento area at 430 am. Should we just sleep in? Is the best bite later in the day?
