Sure there was last July at Linda Mar.  a smooth, near dawm, launch into calm, off shore winds, and ten foot swell. Clad in my $19.99 neon blue rain suit, that looked even more svelte against the bright orange Malibu "Pro" Explorer, I egan to feed the Kingfish at an alarming rate. Undaunted by the fact that these bait snatchers would have me out of tray anchovies as soon as i could mooch them down, i fished on.  Brimming with confidence, I chatted on my tow way, and began to notice how insurmountably sea sick I was just then becoming.  Molments later, having even more accuratly reassessed my immediate condition, I attempted to let Insaneduane know that though it was not quite 08:00, I was dun, only to barf into my two way, and short it out.  Now covered in chow, i began my paddle back to shore.  As is oft the case, the surf was much bigger coming back, and I found myself once again proud for exicuting what for all the world looked like a flawless beach landing.  having masterfully negotiated the big stuff, I found myself in a mere ten or so inches of seemingly harmless foam.  Soon my attention was drawnto the four or five guys on the beach encouraging me to get out of my yak.  Thinking nothing of it, and them, I was quickly capsized, punching my dome through the foam, and into the sand.  Yes, of course my yak then rolled over me dumping all the stuff I was to sick, and or fat, to dump into my forward hatch pryor to my return.  At this point, my pressure sensitive, life vest exploded, instantaneously inflating into a yellow dough nut the approximate size, and shape of a bean bag chair, around my sand, and kelp covered face.

Has anyone tried eating ginger as a seasickness preventative?  Just wondering.  I heard it was a traditional Japanese method.  Just wondering if it works.  I don't get seasick, but some friends do.  :puke:

I've tried the "Ginger" thing and it worked for me. Just have to keep eating it to help. One time I had a small bit of it, and got sick. But the other time I kept eating ginger snaps and things were ok. Hope that helps :smt006

don't let a little of your own throw-up stop ya!...make your trips to sea when the swell is below 6ft and minimal winds(usually early)
Scopace is a perscription type pill that was given to me to try...i barfed in a lake!
..it works! i tried the BONINE? and wanted to pull over, upon returning from a 1/2 day on the ocean for a quik-nap on the BayBridge!
After that nap, I then was given a few of these majic lil-pills and can GO ALL DAY in the OCEAN now!....and don't feel like napping afterwards.....pure GOLD!
just tell your doctor the name and that THIS IS WHAT WILL WORK!  already tested!

...and that is ONE HELLUVA story too!  peopleMIGHTthinkI'Mcrazy,LAUGHINoutLOUD? :smt005

Sorry for pickin' on you, it was just too good to pass up.  Didn't mean anything by it because I've got much respect for my NCKA brothers, or brudas, as some like to say.  :smt003  :smt002

Try peppermint candy for motion sickness.  Works well on a trip with the kids also
