I have an opportunity to purchase an unused  2007 prowler 15 angler for less than 700.00 only problem is that it has a gouge out of the bottom. the gouge is a little deep but not completely through the bottom. my question is should I take the risk and try to fix the gouge and if so what would I use to repair it. or should I just fugetaboutit. and get a new one. I need to get a new one soon as i am limited to using my cousins spare kayak

That is a good deal. I had a drifter with a huge gouge from shipping, used it with clients for 3 years no problem....

If it pokes through and leaks you can add material to it with the plastic welder, or addd the extra plastic before it pokes through.

I have plastic welded a gouge in one of my boats and then covered with expoxy inside and out. That baby is never going to be leak again. Becare of not using too much heat from a heat gun if you do the welding.
