Hello Friend,
I'm new to the TopYak myself... I did a lot of looking and some testing of different models and have decided to go with the x-factor. The reason is being new to the sport I'm concerned with stability. the x-factor has plenty space to mount extras and fits my need for stability. Try out as many as you can....

Good Fishing,

Slammer

I have spent a bunch of time in both boats, and find the Xfactor much more suited to our rough norcal water than the relatively flat Extreme.

Dlanor,
You came to the right place to get advice, not from me because I'm not all that experienced myself, but many of these people are very knowledgeable and helpful.

I had a list of boats I liked and after trading several emails with scwafish and others I ended up with one that wasn't even on my list and love it,

My 2 cents, and the deciding factor for me was weight, if you're going to huff your boat around and up onto a rack alone very often (or ever) don't forget that part of any test paddle should be to see how hard loading/unloading & getting to the water will be when you're alone.

There was 11 pounds difference between my first and second choices, but the second choice boat was about all I could handle, so 11 pounds more would have caused a problem sooner or later. I do have allot of experience in getting boats into racks alone.
