The wind isn't bad this time of year.  The delta breeze thing usually doesn't pick up for another month or two.  I still go out in it, but I check the tides and make sure my travel won't put me in a position where I'm fighting the current and the wind to get back.  Learned that lesson last summer.  I carry an emergency Red Bull tall boy just in case!

Would like to join you people but I think I will go on Friday and take the bass boat out. I have not run it but one time this year. And for your information the bassmaster federation tournament is this month on the 20th and 21st so there should be some boat traffic these next few weeks. Please be careful. My plan is to leave Orwood Resort hit the south Delta then Franks and to Whites. about 60-70 miles round trip. Just to check things out. If one of you would like to go Friday, please come along but I must know by 2:30 pm today. Just PM me. Good luck and I will leave a report if I have any success. :smt006

reelfish,

Thanks for the intel--I'll try not to hit any bass boats with my Hobie.  Wish I could have hooked up with you today (work work work...).  It's always fun to fish while standing too.  Good luck today and I look forward to your report.

All others, the weather looks to be good enough and the bass reports in the delta are improving.  I'll see you all tomorrow morning.

I'm still going on Sunday (I know its the AOTY party, but perhaps I'll go next year...).  I might head north of Tower up the Moke and into Sycamore.  Heard reports of some stripers being caught on the troll and with swimbaits.  Depends on success Saturday in Whites.

I took a drive to Walnut Grove on my way home today.
The Moke, Sac and the sloughs near Walnut Grove were all rather muddy, but that's not all bad.

Hope you guys do great this weekend.

Al

Eight mile road west from I-5.

King Island Resort

Yellowbook.com has a map with road and aerial.  You can check out Whites Slough, just north.

See ya there.

Shotgun, when you get to the second bridge, don't cross it.  Take a left, the launch is a just after you make the turn on your right.  (there should be a sign on 8-mi rd. pointing you to king's).  I usually stop just left of the ramp, unload then park in the lot on the other side of the street.  See you guys there.

I'll be launching from Kings Marina Sunday at 7:30 instead of Tower.  I want to explore the water in the eastern part of Whites tomorrow.

If anyone wants to tag along, let me know.

Bryan
