My Son  and   I  decided to do back-to-back drifts on the Russian River (Memorial to Wholer) before the river's pending rise. It rained on us for the first three  hours and the last three hours of a 6 1/2 hour drift. The wind kept things on the cool side for most of the day. We had several hook-ups but couldn't get the fish to stick. We have checked our hooks and that doesn't seem to be an issue, maybe we are just not worthy yet (five trips this season with one fish so far). All things said it is still a great way to spend the day!!

I was on the Russian in Ukiah yesterday too. I got the crap scared out of me when a 8" trout jumped out of the water right in front of me while I was calmly side drifting a corkie in the light rain. No hook-ups for me though.

CHEERS!

Way to get it in before the storm, maybe the river will be back in shape by Valentine's day.

Just remember, Allen, that kayaking is a WATER sport!  :smt005 Sounds like the Dynamic Duo is a force to be reckoned with for the 2008 AOTY--thank goodness I qualify for the Women's AND Senior divisions!  :smt044

Wow you're going to have to post 30 fish. Good luck to you ,how do you decide witch fish to post to each division?
