Sorry, don't do any work on Pieta Creek.  I actually work with UC Cooperative Extension in monitoring the release and returns (hopefully) of coho salmon.  So far we are concentrating on lower river tributaries.

Ah... the salmonid bias.  Give this minnow some love! :smt007  I know the old common name squawfish is not p.c., but I prefer it to pikeminnow.  Why not demonize this fish further and call it the salmon-eating deathminnow.  This poor minnow's got to live its whole life in the Russian River.  Salmon and steelhead at least get to kick it in the ocean for a while.   

Smallmouth, largemouth, and striped bass are non-natives in the Russian, to them salmonids and squawfish are probably tasty morsels.
