So cool! Do you think it's saltwater ice, or freshwater. I know saltwater can freeze, but I'm ignorant on that type of science. And a lot others too...........

I'm pretty sure it's an ice shelf (i.e. very very large glacier) and therefore freshwater.   My guess is that it's a portion of the ice shelf that has been fractured and uplifted by forces like the tide and/or large waves.

Even if a wave that size rolled into a wall of air at absolute zero, it would not freeze like that.  The thermal conductance and capacitance of water is stupendous, air...less so.
