Freddie and I went to Sutter.  I had # 20 and it was windy.  There were birds flying all over the place.  If I could have "hit the side of a barn".....I guess shooting only 1 or 2 times a season.  Has taken the toll or I can blame it on the wind.

Freddie had 3 mallards down on our pond.  Even, before I could get a shot off.  I shot 10 times before getting a bird.  You can only have 25 shells on you and then walk back to the truck to get more.  Freddie went out to get his 3 birds when there was a break in the action.  He could only find one.

Freddie ended up with 1 mallard, 1 sprig and 2 wiegon.  I got 1 mallard, 1 sprig, 1 gadwall and 2 wiegon.   We stopped at noon.

Nice hunting with you Freddie.  We probably still beat the Avg. and no spoonies or teal were harmed.

I got a pic of my ducks "as an attachment".  Sorry, my camera did not work at the parking lot, Freddie.  Looks like all the heat and sweat being in my pocket made it not work.  I guess I should baggie it or put it in my backpack.  It is suppose to be waterpoof.

Thanks Mudshark,

It has been real hard to get drawn to a top refuge.  Ever since the DFG starting printing those all season long tickets.  I have 10 tickets for the best refuges up and down the Central Valley for Wed. (all season long) and got 2 postcards last year and 3 so far this year.  2 were high numbers at Los Banos.

  That's no Joke...

A Bad Hydrant made a Very Bad situation a whole lot worse :smt091

Got lucky on That one,  Not so good for The mechanic...

He had 2nd and 3rd degree burns 30% of his Body trying to stomp out the fire...

A passing by CHP Officer saved his life.....

We should hook up,  found a interesting spot in West Sac......... Danglin

give me A shout Don...it will have to wait till after duck season,as its the home stretch and its consuming my life at the moment.

kickfish,I did not get one freaking res.this year,I have done all lotto and done well.yolo is nice because its close to home and the numbers are up at 6 pm.so if your number sucks you can still make the haul to Sac NWR. its 430 and I am off to shoot A WU club with my uncle,I will keep you posted on the results.

Ken-

Thanks again for the invite. My shooting was a little subpar but, I've never been a good shot in howling wind. Hope we can hook up again sometime... Seeings how it's close to the end of this season, it may have to wait until next year.

Freddie

PS... no wigeon were harmed on my strap... all mallards, 1 hen and a bull sprig.

Freddie,

Sorry about my mistake on your count.....I had 3 hrs of sleep and you had 1/2 hr.  Atleast, no spoonies or teals were hurt in the process.  Teal are good....but so small and who knows what spoonies eat?
