NCKA 1st Annual Trinidad Kayak Fishing Tournament - a 2 Day Event with at least that many Hangovers per person!   :smt003
SWEET!!

The owners at Richmond Park would be happy to host something for us. It might be an interesting change to have a bar and grill as a base of operations for a largemouth hunt. camping space would be an issue but the state park is only 15 or 20 away.

KickinB and I were talking not long ago and thought that it might be fun to have a team tourney with partners. Your partner could help photo/confirm fish size to keep it catch and release. Results wouldnt be known until we all went home and posted our pictures for Chuck to decide who the winning team was.  Best 2 fish for each team?  since its virtual it wouldnt have to be on the same waters but always is a bonus when we are all together.

A team tourney would fun to try.

Can Freddie and I be on the same team?  :smt003
NO!

If Adam, Mooch, Terry, or anyone for that matter, wants to do the legwork, we'd all be grateful.
Stand by for further details

Let do this!  the CLSP grounds are the cleanest in all of CALI.  you can eat off the restroom floors if you desire!  SPOTLESS and PRIVATE

they got pinball machines and a pool table too!   how can you SAY NO to THAT?!

I can work on this project if there is real interest in a event at clear lake.  The owners at the park have given their blessing, but it would unfortunately be limited to 25-30 kayaks.
The state park is a great place to camp and is equally fantastic for fishing, there just isnt a bar/grill on the water there. I am also a big believer in home field advantage.

OMG! I would be the FIRST to sign up! Trinidad is a very special place to me and to just be able to paddle the harbor and land on Indian Beach would be an adrenaline rush. Participants can hear the details of my ties to this area at Sumeg Village in Patrick's Point SP--an awesome place to camp and hike and to look back in time to how the Yuroks lived.

PLEEEEZE say this event is going to happen!

Some other ideas that were mentioned last year were Loon Lake and Lake Sonoma boat-in camping/fishing events. Whatcha think?

Excellent ideas! I'm all for a pre-spawn MBF at Clear Lake. It's almost a guarantee everyone will catch many fish.
Terry, I was thinking along the same lines as to teams policing themselves with the pics and measurements. And this would be because it doesn't seem too possible to keep a limit of fish alive in a kayak live well. Though... I just had another thought. Maybe we could just go for the biggest single fish. I think I could keep a single fish alive all day.
Last year it all started in mid March.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

What are chances of getting the 2007 posts and photos archived off of the 2008 AOTY Leader Boards?  I’m lazy and don’t want to have to search through all the old entries. :sleepy2:

My .02 cents. I would attend a Clear Lake gathering for sure. Looking forward to some news.

It should all be current now.  The leader board goes directly to 2008 entries.  There are separate links to the 2007 results.

I want to thank Brian (BSteves) for all of his hard work in creating and maintaining the awesome AOTY program!  :worship

Grizz,

Everything from 2007 is still in the system.

As Chuck mentioned there are 2007 result links on the site now and if you click on one of the fish icons in the top banner you will get a list of all the entries for that species since the beginning of 2007 in reverse chronological order.   Also, clicking on a user's name will show all of that persons catches 2008 and 2007 if he has any.

If have any other interface ideas you'd like to see let me know and I'll see what I can do.

There was an AOTY in 2006?  Does anyone else remember this?  Did anyone bother to enter?

Actually, when I rewrote the AOTY application we never bothered to try and migrate the old entries.  I think we have the data but I'm not sure about the actual photos. I'll look into it but I'm not making any promises.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.
